COPPERHEAD 2023 EDITION VINTAGE PLAYING CARDS
history
Shortly after releasing our first deck, Imported Playing Cards, we were asked by the owner of Legends PCC, Lawrence Sullivan, to work with Legends to design and illustrate a new version of their much-loved Copperhead series of playing cards. Printed with Viper Finish and designed with magicians and workers in mind, Copperhead was already available in several different colourways and limited editions. The brief was to take the existing artwork and theme and rework it into a more hand-drawn vintage feel. Copperhead is a type of North American snake and the deck is so-called due to the Viper Finish of the playing card stock (slippery like a snake - geddit?).
ILLUSTRATION
The back design was inspired by the existing Copperhead back, but revised slightly to keep the circular theme and flowing lines of the decorations a bit more open and free. The colour chosen by Legends was a deep magenta - appearing as a dark red - the pantone colour of the year for 2023 - Viva Magenta. The snake motif was a given, despite only being included in the jokers of the original deck, and for this offering was drawn into the Ace of Spades, jokers and tuckbox, in a sketchy, vintage style.
LEGACY
Legends Copperhead 2023 Edition became a cult hit among collectors and magicians alike, and helped to put our brand in front of a lot of new people. Many of our closest and most loyal customers and supporters first discovered us because of this deck of cards. As of writing, they are sold out literally everywhere on the internet, such was their popularity. If you can find a pack, we suggest you pick it up!

These cards came carefully packed in multiple layers of bubble wrap. Once opened it was clear that there was just as much, if not more love and care that went into the creation of these cards. They feel just like actual paper, but holds their shape extremely well even after countless shuffles. The designs of every court cards are beautiful and unique, not to mention the smooth vibrant colors on both the face and back of the cards. I’m very pleased with these cards!

I recently ordered some cards that did not arrive in the post as expected. I was able to fully explain the situation in which I felt listened to and provided with assurances that the issue would be looked into.
Alex maintained excellent communication throughout and the issue was resolved. Turns out the discrepancy was with Royal Mail and I now have my cards, which are in perfect condition.

These are really great cards! I initially bought three setups because the overall design was so nice. But impressed by the high quality of the cards, I ordered more. The plastic is very high quality, and the textured surface is quite thick, giving them a really nice feel when handling them.

Love the cards! The index is in that Goldilocks zone and the red ink is bright and vibrant. Cards are very flexible and they shuffle like butter. Don't sleep on these!
Absolutely brilliant poker setup. Thin stock easy to shuffle, unique court design, lack of strong plastic smell present in other brands of plastic cards (if you ever handled Copags you’ll know) and simple elegant box with gilded crown. What more you could possibly want.
