PREMIUM VINTAGE PLAYING CARDS
Following from the success of our Osprey & Goshawk Vintage Playing Cards project, we revisited the theme - Raptors of the British Isles - with the third deck in the series: Golden Eagle Vintage Playing Cards - designation number 7 (our seventh AHPC deck).
DESIGN
With a deep British Racing Green colourway, premium gold foil elements on the tuckbox, individually numbered seals and a glossy gold gilded edition, we took the project to Kickstarter in Summer 2025 and raised over £12,000 - printing the decks with one of the best playing card manufacturers in the world, Legends Playing Card Co.
ANTIQUE HERITAGE
Sharing design DNA with the popular Osprey & Goshawk Vintage Playing Cards (now sold out almost everywhere), Golden Eagle Vintage Playing Cards features the same set of faces with a revised Ace of Spades and Jokers, and the same back design but featuring a Golden Eagle in the middle and a green colourway (rather than the red & blue used in Osprey & Goshawk). We plan on adding to the series perhaps once every year or so, with popular contenders for future decks being the Peregrine Falcon, Merlin, Red Kite and Barn Owl. I’ve been collecting AHPC cards for quite a while so this review is long overdue. Through thoughtful pen strokes that are uniquely Alex Haines, every deck exudes the artist’s passion. AHPC decks restore lost histories, trigger forgotten nostalgias, and tug at heartstrings through subtle storytelling… and if you’re not into all that well they’re still some of the best damn decks of playing cards that money can buy. Every deck handles exactly as you hope - the shuffles are crisp, the stock retains its form, the pips are instantly readable, and the cards glide effortlessly to their mark. I’ve collected thousands of different decks over the years and I can tell you that AHPC achieves a consistent quality that you won’t find anywhere else. And to top it all off? Alex and Charlotte are wonderful people that genuinely care about the customer experience. You truly can’t go wrong here :)
BTW I strongly recommend grabbing yourself an Albatross deck set - one of my all-time favorites!
The "Black Shuck" deck is a pleasure to look at and handle.The design and artwork is very captivating and draws you closer to the mysterious and intriguing theme of the story.Another outstanding creative work from what is already a classic from Alex.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!

Nice assortment of playing cards. It included 2 gilded decks and 4 regular decks. I enjoy collecting and giving away decks to friends, so it was good way to stock up.
